POLI-Corporate is a collaborative research project between the Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts (Fakultät III – Medien, Information und Design) and the Lower Saxony Police. The focus was on developing sustainable design strategies in fashion design, with the aim of rethinking police service clothing. By considering the diverse areas of work of police officers, the project explored functional, innovative, and holistic solutions for the future of corporate clothing in the public sector.
Together with the fashion design department, we designed a 60-page publication that documents student projects and highlights the challenges as well as the potential of sustainable approaches to uniform and corporate clothing. The catalog positions itself as both a design document and a contribution to the broader discourse on sustainability in institutional apparel.

Service clothing for police officers must combine functionality, durability, and representation. The challenge was to explore these requirements under the perspective of sustainability: How can ecological and social criteria be integrated into the design of corporate uniforms without compromising performance or identity?
Development of a clear, functional, yet visually engaging catalog that presents student projects in a professional framework.
Positioning the publication as part of a research initiative that bridges applied design practice and institutional innovation.
The publication POLI-Corporate showcases student projects that envision future scenarios for police service clothing and reflects on the role of fashion design in public service. By linking sustainability, functionality, and identity, the project contributes to the debate on how corporate clothing can evolve responsibly.
