Challenges
Creating an identity for Würzburg Solidarisch required balancing a friendly, inclusive vision with radical left values — such as the unconditional right to stay and unrestricted freedom of movement for all. Operating in a politically charged environment, the organization’s messaging needed to cut through disinformation and apathy with immediate clarity. As a grassroots, volunteer-driven association and part of the We’ll Come United network, the design had to be easy to reproduce, scalable, and accessible to marginalized communities, refugees, and allies while reflecting the values of responsibility, compassion, and collective action.
Approach & Method
Usable Toolkit:
It was important to us to provide the club with a toolkit that would allow them to independently create and effectively edit content for the media. A wide range of illustration elements, combined with striking colors, helps the initative to maintain a consistent visual language for its external audience.
Outcome & Impact of Solidarity Design Work
The new identity gave Würzburg Solidarisch a unified, recognizable voice, reinforcing its role as a trusted advocate for justice and solidarity. By aligning design with the values of responsibility and collective action, the project strengthened collaborations with networks in the region to help with the urgencies in our society of isolation.
